23 Aug First Stage Trauma Treatment

This one-day interactive workshop will be delivered through the Question of Care project, in collaboration with FourCAST. Participants will explore new ways to integrate trauma informed practice into their work and share safety and stabilization techniques with clients. The workshop is intended for social workers, addiction counsellors, mental health case managers, nurses, shelter workers, or anyone in a helping profession.

Katie Lamport | FourCAST
Katie Lamport has been working in the social service field for fourteen years and has been a Counsellor in a Concurrent Disorder setting for the past twelve years. Katie has incorporated First stage trauma treatment skills in her individual counselling sessions as well as in groups. Katie has facilitated the Seeking Safety group which is designed specifically for clients who are recovering from trauma and addiction concerns.

Cheryl Robinson is a Registered Psychotherapist and has been working within the Concurrent Disorder field for the past thirteen years. She has been using first stage trauma skills in her individual sessions and in groups. Cheryl is committed to offering clients trauma informed care as well as encouraging other Helping Professionals to maintain their own well-being as they support others.
