Trauma-Informed Care and Resiliency
ATZ Partner Workshop Series
We begin these workshops by exploring the Adverse Childhood Experiences study, using sexual- and gender-based violence as examples of trauma. We delve into the impacts of trauma on neurobiology and discuss how science helps us understand symptoms of trauma in new ways. We then look at trauma- and violence-informed care as a universal precaution that helps us to meet the needs of patients and clients more effectively. Using the newest research in resiliency, we demonstrate specific client or patient skills building that can be nurtured through a trauma- and violence-informed practice. We end the workshop series with practical information about local resources and referrals.
